Despite strong individual performances, South Carolina men’s and women’s swimming and diving was unable to top Purdue in the second meet of their 2017-18 season. The Gamecocks recorded 13 first-place finishes, but fell to the Boilermakers 174.5-123.5 (women) and 157-142 (men).

The South Carolina volleyball team earned its first win under interim head coach Dottie Hampton in dramatic fashion Wednesday night, beating Auburn 3-1 in front of a national TV audience. The Gamecocks fought through 42 ties and 13 lead changes over the four sets to snap a three-game losing streak and move to 10-9 for the season (3-4 SEC).

No. 3 South Carolina women’s soccer (13-1-0, 7-0-0 SEC) continues SEC play this week when it faces Missouri (6-9-1, 2-5-0 SEC) on the road on Thu., Oct. 19. Kickoff from Walton Soccer Stadium is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET, and the match can be seen on SEC Network+. With a win over the Tigers and losses by Texas A&M and Tennessee Thursday, the Gamecocks will clinch at least a share of the SEC Regular-Season Title.
