Two members of the South Carolina men's tennis program earned regional honors from the ITA, the organization announced today, as freshman Andrew Adams was named the Carolina Region Rookie of the Year and assistant coach Matt Lucas earned the region's Assistant Coach of the Year award.

South Carolina defeated Furman 7-0 on Wednesday night and split a pair of games at Georgia this past weekend. The Gamecocks are now 38-13 and 17-9 in the SEC. South Carolina is currently a half game behind Kentucky for first place in the Southeastern Conference with three league games remaining. The Gamecocks have won 14 of the last 16 conference games played. South Carolina is also 21-6 in the last 27 games played.

The 30th-ranked South Carolina women's tennis team suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hands of No. 3 Duke on Saturday in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at Ambler Tennis Stadium in Durham, N.C.

Despite a four-run rally from third ranked South Carolina in the top of the ninth inning, Georgia's Joey Delmonico would tally a RBI base hit to left-center in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift the Bulldogs to a 6-5 win over the Gamecocks on Saturday afternoon at Foley Field. South Carolina is now 38-13 and 17-9 in the SEC with Georgia improving to 29-22 and 13-13 in league play. The rubber game of the series on Sunday is set for 2 p.m. and can be heard live on the Gamecock Radio Network from IMG College including flagship station, "107.5 FM," The Game.
