University of South Carolina tight end Hayden Hurst is one of 10 semifinalists for the 2017 Burlsworth Trophy, it was announced today. The Burlsworth Trophy is awarded to the most outstanding football player in America who began his career as a walk-on.

South Carolina senior forward A’ja Wilson earned one of five spots on the Associated Press Preseason All-America Team, the media organization announced today. It is the second season that Wilson has been part of the preseason recognition.

South Carolina women’s soccer earned its second-straight NCAA Tournament No. 1 seed when the 64-team field was announced Monday afternoon. The third-ranked Gamecocks will host Alabama State in the tournament’s opening round on Fri., Nov. 10, at Stone Stadium.

South Carolina men's soccer senior goalkeeper was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. It's his second player of the week honor this season and the fourth of his career.

South Carolina senior guard Bianca Cuevas-Moore earned a spot on the Nancy Lieberman Award Watch List Monday as the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame tapped the top 20 female collegiate point guards in the nation. The award, in its 19th season, recognizes the point guard who exhibits the floor leadership, play-making and ball-handling skills of Hall of Famer Nancy Lieberman.

South Carolina finished its fall season in Hawaii this weekend with a bang, taking second place at the 2017 Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic after shooting the fifth lowest 54-hole total in program history (828, -24). The Gamecocks shot 281 (-3) in the final round Sunday, led by junior Will Miles' 5-under round of 66.
