Hassani Gravett scored a lay-up, followed by a free throw with 6.5 seconds remaining to give South Carolina an 80-78 victory over Coastal Carolina in Colonial Life Arena on Saturday. The play allowed the Gamecocks to earn a victory in a game they trailed by as many as five in the second half. They survived Coastal Carolina getting two shots off as time ran out. The win, which improved USC's record to 8-2, was its third straight since returning home. The loss dropped the Chanticleers to 5-5.

Chris Silva scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, Felipe Haase added 17 with nine boards, and South Carolina used a big second-half run to beat Wyoming 80-64 on Wednesday night. Frank Booker scored 16 points with three 3-pointers, six rebounds and three steals. Freshman Justin Minaya added 11 points for the Gamecocks (7-2), who outrebounded the Cowboys 43-34 and scored 24 points off of 18 Wyoming turnovers. Haase's 3 put South Carolina up for good, 25-22, and the Gamecocks finished the first half on a 13-3 run to lead 35-25 at halftime.

Freshman Justin Minaya scored 17 points, Chris Silva had 12 of his 14 points in the second half and South Carolina defeated UMass 76-70 on Saturday. Silva, coming off a two-point performance in a Thursday loss to Temple at Madison Square Garden, was in foul trouble for most of the game. He and Maik Kotsar entered the game with 5:40 remaining with four fouls apiece and Silva delivered back-to-back dunks in 34 seconds to put USC up by six. The Minutemen cut the advantage to two with 19.4 seconds remaining on a 3-pointer by Carl Pierre, but Hassani Gravett made four straight free throws to seal it.

Quinton Rose scored a season-high 24 points to lead Temple to a 76-60 rout of South Carolina on Thursday night in the second game of the Under Armour Reunion at Madison Square Garden. Damion Moore finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Obi Enechionyia added 15 points for Temple, which improved to 4-1 with its fourth win in its last five games. South Carolina dropped to 5-2. The game was South Carolina's first at Madison Square Garden since Sweet 16 and Elite Eight wins over Baylor and Florida, respectively, last March.
