M. Basketball. Gamecocks top Broncos 79-66 at Puerto Rico Tip-Off

Wesley Myers and Chris Silva each scored 14 points to help South Carolina beat Western Michigan 79-66 in Sunday's fifth-place game at the relocated Puerto Rico Tip-Off. The Gamecocks (4-1) led 35-34 at the break, but upped their defensive intensity to harass the Broncos into mistakes. South Carolina ran off 14 unanswered points during a 17-1 run while holding Western Michigan without a basket for nearly 8 1/2 minutes. That turned a one-point edge into a 57-40 margin on Kory Holden's 3-pointer with 10:02 left. South Carolina led by double figures from there.

W. Volleyball. Gamecocks Lose, 3-0, at Texas A&M

Texas A&M swept the South Carolina volleyball team Sunday afternoon, 25-18, 25-19, 25-18. The Gamecock offense was held in check for the match, but junior Aubrey Ezell did join an elite club in a losing effort with 20 digs that pushed her over a career milestone.

South Carolina swimming and diving finished off its final day of competition at the Georgia Tech Invitational on Saturday. The Gamecock men finished fourth, and the women took fifth after the two teams combined for eight individual event wins.

No. 1 seeded South Carolina women's soccer (17-2-1) plays host to Santa Clara (15-6-1) in the third round of the 2017 NCAA Tournament on Sun., Nov. 19. Kickoff from Stone Stadium is set for 2 p.m. ET, and the match can be seen on SEC Network+. Sunday's contest will mark the first meeting between the two schools. With a win, the Gamecocks will advance to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the third time in the last four years.

South Carolina’s volleyball team snapped a three-match losing streak with a 3-1 win over Alabama Friday night (20-25, 25-22, 25-23, 26-24). The Gamecocks rebounded from a first set loss to take the win and move to 12-15 overall this season (5-10 SEC). Mikayla Shields led the team with 18 kills in the match.

Freshman forward Luciana Zullo tallied a goal in the 39th minute to lift top-seeded South Carolina women’s soccer to a 1-0 victory over Wisconsin in the second round of the NCAA Tournament Friday night at Stone Stadium. The Gamecocks punched the program’s fourth ticket to the NCAA Sweet 16 and improved to 17-2-1 on the year with the win over the Badgers.

South Carolina swimming and diving remained solid in the second day of competition at the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta. Several Gamecocks earned spots in the A-Finals of their respective events, and the team earned two first-place finishes throughout the day. Both the men and women maintained their spots in the rankings during day two with the men in third and the women in fifth.
