Swimming & Diving. Gamecocks Travel to Purdue for Second Meet

After an outstanding start to the 2017-18 season, South Carolina swimming and diving will travel to West Lafeyette, Ind., to take on Purdue Thurs., Oct. 19. The dual meet will begin at 6 p.m. ET at the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center.

South Carolina fired one of the best rounds in the field Tuesday on a windy final day at the 2017 Crooked Stick Invitational to finish fifth. The Gamecocks shot 290 (+4) in round three and rose two spots up the leaderboard. Four players finished in the top-25 for Carolina, led by All-American Keenan Huskey’s T-10th finish.

W. Golf. South Carolina Moves Into Top-10 Of Golfweek Rankings

South Carolina women’s golf moved inside the top-10 in the latest Golfweek rankings, the publication announced this week. The Gamecocks, who were listed at No. 14 in the previous poll, climbed to No. 7 following a strong showing at the Tar Heel Invitational this past weekend.

The South Carolina volleyball team will compete in its first mid-week match of the season on Wednesday night, when travels to Auburn (11-6, 4-4 SEC) to face the Tigers at 8 p.m. ET. The match will air nationally on the SEC Network. The Gamecocks (9-9, 2-4 SEC) are aiming to snap a four-match losing streak to Auburn.

The University of South Carolina track & field team celebrated an incredibly successful 2017 season last weekend as it held its annual awards banquet. The Gamecocks and their guests enjoyed a night full of celebration at Williams-Brice Stadium as they took time to reflect on an outstanding set of accomplishments from last season.

W. Basketball. Media Again Picks Gamecocks as SEC Champs, Wilson Player of the Year

A panel of both SEC and national media members picked South Carolina to win the 2018 SEC women’s basketball championship, the league office announced today. It is the fourth-straight season the Gamecocks have topped the preseason media voting, and, if the prediction holds, would give South Carolina five consecutive conference championships. The media also selected senior forward A’ja Wilson as its SEC Preseason Player of the Year, an award she has won at the end of the last two seasons.
