Freshman midfielder Lauren Chang netted a goal in the 95th minute to give No. 3 South Carolina women’s soccer a dramatic 1-0 victory over No. 21 Tennessee in Sunday’s top-25 battle at Stone Stadium. The Gamecocks (9-1-0, 3-0-0 SEC) pushed their winning streak to seven games and remained atop the SEC standings with the win, while the Volunteers (9-1-1, 1-1-1 SEC) suffered their first loss of the season in the setback.

South Carolina volleyball opened the SEC season with a 3-2 win at Mississippi State (9-7) Friday night, 19-25, 25-17, 26-24, 22-25, 15-6. Gamecock head coach Scott Swanson earned his 100th win at the helm of the program, and the team opened the conference slate with a road win for the first time since 2003.

South Carolina (4-3-1, 0-2-1 C-USA) battled wire-to-wire in a 2-2 draw with conference foe New Mexico (4-3-1, 0-1-1 C-USA) Friday night under the lights at Stone Stadium. A nifty give and go by Luca Mayr and Petter Soelberg nearly ended the match with 8 seconds remaining in the second overtime, but Jason Beaulieu came off his line sliding in front of Soelberg's close-range shot.

M. Tennis. Cerundolo Tops Ranked Foes in Gamecock Debut

In his first competition representing South Carolina, freshman Francisco Cerundolo picked up two wins against ranked opponents to lead Gamecock men’s tennis in its first weekend of competition. With the team spread across a pair of tournaments for the weekend, #28 Gabriel Friedrich picked up a pair of single wins and teamed with Cerundolo for a doubles victory at the Gator Ranked +1, while Thomas Mayronne notched a singles win for the Gamecocks at the Ivy Plus.

W. Equestrian. Carolina Rolls Clemson 19-0

South Carolina equestrian rolled to a 19-0 win over in-state rival Clemson in an exhibition on Friday at One Wood Farm to open the season.
