Sophomore golfer Anita Uwadia posted an opening-round 71 (-1) to pace No. 13 South Carolina on day one of the Mason Rudolph Championship Friday at Vanderbilt Legends Club. The Gamecocks opened the 54-hole event with a 1-over 289 to end round one in a tie for eighth place.

South Carolina women’s tennis swept all 27 points up for grab in the first day of the South Carolina Fall Invitational on Friday at the Carolina Tennis Center. The Gamecocks won all six singles matches against Middle Tennessee State to start day before closing with three wins over James Madison and Liberty in the afternoon doubles competition.
