COLUMBIA, S.C. -- After going through a grueling winter workout schedule, the South Carolina swimming and diving teams are set to open the 2012 portion of the schedule on Saturday at home in a meet with Duke and Queens University of Charlotte.

The South Carolina men's basketball team (8-8, 0-2 SEC) will host No. 19/19 Florida (13-4, 1-1 SEC) in an SEC matchup on Saturday night at Colonial Life Arena. The contest will be televised on CSS at 7 p.m. with Matt Stewart and Nate Ross on the call.

No. 24 South Carolina suffered its first SEC loss of the season in a 58-48 defeat at LSU Thursday night. The Gamecocks led 27-20 at halftime but saw the Lady Tigers' defense, rated third in the nation behind South Carolina, step up in the second half to allow just 24.1 percent field goal shooting in the period. Aleighsa Welch led the offense with 13 points to go with her seven rebounds. La'Keisha Sutton added 10 points to the effort despite foul trouble limiting her action in the second half.
