The South Carolina track and field programs open the 2012 season this weekend when they travel to Blacksburg, Va., for the Virginia Tech Invitational.

University of South Carolina defensive tackle Travian Robertson has accepted an invitation to play in the 87th East-West Shrine Game®. The Game will be held Jan. 21, 2012 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla., kicking off at 4 p.m. EST and televised live on the NFL Network.

South Carolina men's tennis kicks off its spring campaign with a trip to the SEC Indoor Championships in Lexington, Ky. The tournament begins on Fri., Jan. 13, with six other teams joining the Gamecocks at the annual event - Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt. South Carolina has seven singles entries in the 64-player draw, and four doubles tandems will compete in the 32-team bracket.

Over the holidays, the South Carolina men's basketball team took some time out to speak to area at-risk youth.

The "Best Football Team in Gamecock History" will be recognized at halftime of the South Carolina-Florida men's basketball game on Saturday, January 14. The game will tip at 7 p.m. ET at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia.
