The South Carolina equestrian program has announced the signing of Rhode Island native Samantha Smith (Wakefield, RI/South Kingston) to a National Letter of Intent to join the South Carolina Gamecocks Equestrian Team starting this semester. Smith has already enrolled at the University as a freshman and has four years of eligibility.

The University of South Carolina football team reached another benchmark in a long-line of "firsts" under head coach Steve Spurrier. The 11-2 Gamecocks finished the season ranked among the nation's Top-10 teams for the first time in school history.
