Softball. Softball Announces 2018 Schedule

South Carolina softball and head coach Beverly Smith proudly announced the 2018 schedule on Friday. The schedule features 19 games against teams in the final 2017 top-25 poll, 29 against teams in the RPI top-50 and eight games against teams that reached the WCWS last season.

W. Cross Country. Gamecocks Take 19th Place at NCAA Southeast Regional

South Carolina’s 2017 cross country season came to an end on Friday as the Gamecocks finished 19th out of 41 squads at the NCAA Southeast Regional. Sophomore Anna Kathryn Stoddard was once again Carolina’s top finisher, pacing the Gamecocks at Panorama Farms.

M. Basketball. Silva Named To SEC Coaches Preseason All-SEC Second Team

Junior forward Chris Silva was named to the SEC Coaches Preseason All-SEC Second Team, the conference office announced on Friday morning ahead of the official start of the 2017-18 campaign. Silva is Carolina’s top returning scorer (10.2), rebounder (6.1) and shot blocker (1.4) and a veteran leader of this year’s squad.

W. Equestrian. Madison Thiel Heading To OKC To Represent Carolina

South Carolina’s Madison Thiel has been selected to participate in the 2017 American Quarter Horse Association Collegiate Horsemanship Challenge Nov. 11-12, during the Lucas Oil AQHA World Championship Show in Oklahoma City. Thiel is one of just eight riders representing the NCEA, with the select view being picked based on their win-loss percentages by the NCEA selection committee.

South Carolina men’s tennis sophomore Paul Jubb compeleted the fall season for the Gamecocks on Thursday. Jubb represented his home country of Great Britain at the Niceville ITF Futures, where he made it through to the round of 16 in the main draw.

W. Basketball. Women’s Hoops Tips Off Friday at Colonial Life Arena

No. 4/2 South Carolina officially opens its 2017-18 regular season at Colonial Life Arena on Fri., Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. against Alabama State. The Gamecocks will receive their SEC Championship rings and will unveil their National Championship banner in a ceremony that will begin at 6:30 p.m. and air live on SEC Network+.

W. Soccer. Conklin, Krzeczowski Collect Academic Honor From CoSIDA

South Carolina senior defender Anna Conklin and sophomore goalkeeper Mikayla Krzeczowski have been named to the women’s soccer CoSIDA Academic District 4 Team, the organization announced Thursday afternoon. Both Gamecocks received the academic honor for the first time.
