South Carolina (20-8, 10-5 SEC) suffered an 81-66 loss on the road Tuesday evening at No. 13/12 Florida (23-5, 13-2 SEC). Senior Sindarius Thornwell had 23 points (15 in the second half) and 10 rebounds for his fifth double-double (11th career) of the season to the lead the Gamecocks.

Alex Destino and Jacob Olson each homered and fourth ranked South Carolina scored five runs in the first five innings on the way to a 5-4 victory over Charlotte on Tuesday night at Founders Park. The Gamecocks improve to 3-1 with Charlotte dropping to 2-2 on the season.

University of South Carolina track & field student-athletes Taranisha Taylor and Eric Favors were honored by the Southeastern Conference on Tuesday for their performances last Friday at the Tiger Tuneup. Taylor was named Women's Runner of the Week, and Favors was honored as Men's Freshman of the Week.

The South Carolina men's soccer team hosted its annual C.A.P.S. Clinic to benefit Children's Chance on Saturday morning at Stone Stadium. There was a record turnout this year, as over 60 campers participated.
