The University of South Carolina football team went through about a two-hour workout on Saturday morning at Williams-Brice Stadium, with the bulk of the practice in a scrimmage format. It was practice number 11 of the 15 allotted spring practices.

Sunday’s South Carolina-Alabama baseball game has been moved to Noon to accommodate fans wanting to attend the game and also wanting to watch the South Carolina men’s basketball game vs. Florida in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Division I Tournament that is scheduled for 2:20 p.m. ET.

M. Basketball. Gamecocks Elite Eight Bound After 70-50 Win Over Baylor

The magic continued for South Carolina (25-10) at Madison Square Garden Friday night, as it matched a school record for wins (25) in a 70-50 Sweet 16 victory over third-seeded Baylor (27-8). With the win, the Gamecocks have advanced to the program’s first Elite Eight. Sindarius Thornwell led all scorers for the third consecutive game, scoring 24 points.

W. Tennis. Gamecocks Overcome Missouri 4-2

Fourth ranked South Carolina broke ahead two runs in the bottom of the first, but homers from Cody Henry and Chandler Taylor in the third and fourth innings and an unearned run in the top of the ninth lifted Alabama to a 4-2 win on Friday night at Founders Park. The Crimson Tide is now 12-10 overall and 1-3 in the SEC with the Gamecocks 15-6 and 3-1 in league play. The loss snaps South Carolina’s eight-game winning streak.

Softball. Gamecocks Fall at No. 9/9 Alabama 7-3 in Series Opener

History was made on Friday as the University of South Carolina track & field program officially opened the Sheila & Morris Cregger Track with its first competition – the 2017 Weems Baskin Invitational. South Carolina celebrated the day by winning five events at their new home, with many more victories sure to come Saturday on the second day of the meet.
