Former South Carolina women’s golf standout Sarah Schmelzel posted a final-round 71 (-1) to finish in a tie for second at Stage I of the 2016 LPGA Tour Qualifying Tournament on Sunday at Mission Hills Country Club. Schmelzel boasted a 72-hole score of 279 (-9) and advanced to Stage II of Q-School along with 91 other golfers who finished under the cut line (294, +6).

Sophomore forward Simone Wark netted the game winner in the 83rd minute to push South Carolina women's soccer past UCF, 2-1, Sunday night at UCF Soccer Complex. With the victory, the Gamecocks (3-0-1) extended their winning streak to three games and remained unbeaten on the season. The Knights dropped to 1-3-0 following the loss.

The South Carolina volleyball team secured the College of Charleston Invitational title Saturday afternoon, after it swept Binghamton (0-2) 25-13, 28-26, 25-20 to end the weekend 3-0. Mikayla Shields was named tournament MVP after recording 33 kills over the three matches, and Koko Atoa-Williams and Aubrey Ezell made the All-Tournament team.
